What is Mental Wellness?
Mental Wellness, also known as Mental Health, Mental Illness, or Behavioral Health, refers to a person’s thinking, feeling, or mood. According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), these conditions deeply impact day-to-day living and may also affect the ability to relate to others. If you have - or think you might have - a mental illness, you are not alone. In fact, mental health conditions are common: 1 in 5 U.S. adults experience mental illness each year.
Mental health conditions are no one’s fault, but common misunderstandings about mental health exist and can impact people seeking treatment. Taking care of your mental wellness is just as important as your physical wellness.
