Dear Music Lovers and Health Alliance for Austin Musicians Supporters in Central Texas,
Can you feel the excitement? HAAM Day is back, and we couldn't be more thrilled to share an entire day of music and community with Greater Austin on Tuesday, September 24. HAAM Day brings us all together – artists, iconic venues, local businesses, and you – in support of the lifesaving services HAAM provides to thousands of local musicians every year.
Remember almost 20 years ago when we held our first HAAM Day? We raised $57,000 in our first year – we're aiming for over $875,000 this year! It's a big goal, but Austin keeps growing and HAAM is working to serve more musicians, DJs, and music teachers in Travis and surrounding counties.
Hundreds of our talented local musicians will be playing at over 200 spots all over town. From the legendary Antone's to your neighborhood H-E-B, music will be everywhere on HAAM Day. It's not just about the music, though. Each performance is a powerful reminder of why we're doing this – to keep our musicians healthy and thriving.
Let's face it, Austin without its musicians is unimaginable. These incredible artists contribute over $2 billion to our economy annually. But life as a musician isn't always easy, especially when it comes to healthcare. That's where HAAM steps in, offering a lifeline that keeps many musicians rooted here and doing what they love. Since 2005, HAAM has provided local musicians $191 million in healthcare services.
As representatives from PNC and SXSW, we're honored to lead the charge for HAAM Day this year. We're joined by amazing partners like H-E-B, C3 Presents, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Cirrus Logic, Metropolis Apartments, The Barilla Foundation, and many more. But you know what? The most important partner is you.
