Announcing HAAM's 2025 Board of Directors

HAAM is proud to announce changes to our Board of Directors as we continue our mission to provide access to affordable healthcare for Austin's music community.

As we move into 2025, we extend our deepest gratitude to our departing board members who have contributed their time, expertise, and passion to supporting Austin's musicians. Their leadership has been instrumental in helping HAAM provide vital healthcare programs and services to our incredible local music community.

At the same time, we are thrilled to welcome our newest board members, whose diverse backgrounds and shared commitment to Austin's music scene will help guide HAAM into its next twenty years. These incoming leaders bring fresh perspectives and valuable experience that will strengthen our ability to serve Austin's musicians.

A massive thank you to two very special board members who will be rotating off our Board of Directors in 2025. Olga Campos Benz and Keith Donahoe have both contributed their invaluable expertise to further and deepen the work we do at HAAM.

Olga Campos Benz is one of the most honored anchor/reporters of the Texas airwaves. Currently, she is a Media and PR consultant for i-Media Strategies. Olga has been an active board member since she joined the board in 2011, helping HAAM out with its communications and marketing throughout her tenure as well as support and leadership for the Governance Committee. Thank you, Olga, for your thirteen years of service on our board! Previously, she has supported HAAM in leadership positions, including:

  • Executive Committee: 2013-2016

  • Secretary of Board: 2016

  • Communications Committee Chair: 2017 – 2020

  • Governance Chair: 2023

Keith Donahoe joined the HAAM board in 2012, serving 12 years on the board. Keith in his banking industry roles has been instrumental in helping to steward HAAM’s financial success as well as being a key supporter of HAAM’s signature events. Keith has consistently supported HAAM on the Finance, Governance, Strategic Planning, and Capital Campaign committees. This year, Keith Donahoe was appointed to serve as President of Southside Bank / Southside Bancshares Inc. We wish Keith all the best in his new role! Keith has served in multiple leadership positions with the HAAM board, including:

  • Vice Chair: 2016

  • Chair: 2017-2018

  • Governance Chair: 2016

  • Past Chair & Exec Committee: 2019 – 2022

  • Strategic Planning Chair: 2019 – 2020

R. Bruce Callahan,Vice Chairman Emeritus, NFP

R. Bruce Callahan is a distinguished business leader and philanthropist whose career spans over five decades in the financial services industry. As Vice Chairman Emeritus of NFP and a founding managing partner of PartnersFinancial, Inc., Bruce has demonstrated exceptional leadership in building and growing successful organizations.

After graduating with honors from Dartmouth College and earning his MBA with distinction from Harvard Business School, Bruce began his career at MetLife before taking on executive roles at CNA Insurance and American Founders Life. In 1987, he co-founded PartnersFinancial, Inc., which was later acquired by NFP in 1999. His tenure at NFP included serving as Chairman and CEO of NFP Insurance Services, Inc., where he played a pivotal role in carrier relations and career development.

Beyond his business achievements, Bruce is deeply committed to philanthropic causes. He founded the PartnersFinancial Charitable Foundation, which provides grants to various charities nationwide and responds to global disasters. His dedication to education and healthcare is evident through his involvement with the UT Austin Technology Incubator and the Tortolani Foundation, where he has supported breast cancer research and patient services.

Currently residing in Austin, Texas with his wife Nancy Jo, Bruce maintains strong connections to Chicago and enjoys spending time with his three children and eight grandchildren. His ongoing work with HAAM (Health Alliance for Austin Musicians) demonstrates his continued commitment to community service, where he's successfully developing a Business Alliance with substantial financial commitments.

Denise Grode, Chief Human Resources Officer, Cirrus Logic

Denise is an accomplished executive currently serving as the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) for Cirrus Logic. She has successfully led strategic human capital solutions in mid-size to Fortune 25 companies specializing in talent management, organizational development, and internal communications. With a career spanning over 25 years in human resources leadership, Denise brings a unique blend of vision, innovation, and operational expertise to her role. 

As CHRO, Denise is responsible for shaping the company's people strategy, aligning it closely with business objectives to drive sustainable growth and organizational effectiveness. She oversees a global workforce, fostering a culture of inclusivity, collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning. She is focused on data-driven decision-making and leveraging technology to optimize HR processes and enhance employee engagement. Her leadership is characterized as a trusted advisor with a commitment to enhancing employee experience and leveraging human capital as a competitive advantage in the marketplace. 

Prior to joining Cirrus Logic, Denise held key leadership roles in prominent multinational corporations, where she successfully navigated complex HR challenges and implemented transformative initiatives that enhanced productivity and employee satisfaction. Her track record includes building a Corporate University, designing leadership development programs, and significantly improving employee experience scores (engagement, organizational health, people leader effectiveness) surpassing top-quartile Fortune 100 benchmarks. 

Outside of her professional endeavors, Denise is driven by a belief in the power of collective action and community engagement. She is honored to serve on the board of Music Helps, leveraging her skills and experiences to advance the healing power of music focused on women and children. She also gives her time to several other non-profit organizations in her community. In her spare time, Denise enjoys travel and golf, is an avid reader and enjoys the local Austin music scene. 

John Trube, Principal - Private Real Estate, Trube Corporation

John Trube is an accomplished entrepreneur and real estate development specialist, who was elected to three terms as Mayor of Buda, Texas until he stepped down in July 2007 in order to devote himself full-time to the private real estate sector through Trube Corp. Two entertainment related projects he founded and still owns today are Buds Recording Services and the hill country music venue Remedy Hall.

Trube served with both Senators Barrientos and Watson as the Vice CHairman of the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization responsible for the planned use and appropriation of hundreds of millions of dollars of federal gas tax funds to the Texas Department of Transportation in Travis, Williamson, and Hays counties. Trube was vice Chairman of the Hays Caldwell Public Utility Authority and served two years as Chairman of the five county Mayors Alliance. In 2005, Governor Rick Perry appointed him to the Capital Area Regional Review Board.

From 1998 to the present, Trube has invested in and developed numerous real estate projects establishing entitlements, districts, and government incentives on thousands of acres in four Texas counties. Within the last eight years, he has completed over 1,630,000 square feet and $303,000,000 of development consisting of multifamily, retail, and mixed use.

He spent four years in Los Angeles, where he founded Trube Entertainment, which owned/operated a 17-acre studio with 400K square feet of sound stages and back lot. In addition to overseeing the studio operation, he produced two documentaries and two independent feature films, which has US and foreign distribution. He also produced national television advertisements and music & industrial videos.

Starting in 1989, John assumed increasing responsible posts in finance and marketing both in New York City and Austin, where in 1994, he founded Maverick Marketing and Manufacturing, an international Maquiladora hardwood consumer goods company, which manufactured and sold through direct television spots and home shopping networks. Prior to selling Maverick in 1998, he won an excellence award from QVC where he was a certified supplier and presenter as well as on the Home Shopping Network.

John is married to his wife, Caroline, and is a native Austinite. John has been recognized many times for his accomplishments:
