"I couldn’t be more grateful for HAAM,” writes DJ & Producer Emmanuel Lopez. “I haven’t been to a doctor in over 20 years. I have always been afraid to see one because I’ve been afraid to see what they will discover. My family has a history of cancer and diseases related to high blood pressure. I have always felt healthy but as of late, I started to feel a little off. I would get lethargic out of nowhere and I just accepted it as my reality.
“I finally signed up for HAAM, got a check up immediately and discovered I was dealing with anemia due to blood loss in my colon. I was so scared for my life. Cancer has always been a huge fear and I’m afraid of medical procedures. Sure enough I was scheduled for an Endoscopy and Colonoscopy. I haven’t been so scared to face reality. My results found non cancerous but non benign polyps and found the reason I was dealing with anemia. My doctor told me if I had waited things could have been critical. I made some serious life choices and I feel better than ever! Thanks to HAAM and the staff at Austin Regional Clinic! I’ve spent sleepless nights worrying if my partner will outlive me. Now I embrace everyday as a blessing. I feel a newly rejuvenated feeling to make music, share music, and live life to the fullest. I feel I have a purpose and a community to support my health."
