About Our Team
The HAAM staff is a group of passionate and diverse professionals who work very hard to meet the needs of our HAAM member musicians. HAAM Founder, Robin Shivers, had big dreams that the Austin community would come together to ensure that one of our most treasured resources - our musicians - would have access to affordable healthcare services. The HAAM staff still shares those dreams today.
The HAAM Board is comprised of well-respected musician, business, and community leaders who are committed to ensuring that Austin's low income, uninsured musicians have access to affordable healthcare. The HAAM Board volunteers countless hours overseeing the guidance and stewardship of the HAAM resources and assets in order to meet the needs of our musicians. HAAM is proud to have this board of distinguished leaders sharing their skills and talents with our organization.
Reenie brings a wealth of health care and nonprofit administration experience to her role as HAAM’s executive director. Her time with Seton Healthcare Family – part of 25 years in the industry – shaped her skills in leading system change and developing mission-driven programs.
Rachel relies on her 17 years in healthcare and nonprofit leadership while overseeing all HAAM operations. Her background blends clinical experience in behavioral health with program direction and team management. HAPPY BEGINNINGS: long before joining HAAM, Rachel saved her now-husband's career by referring him to the agency.
Rikki manages major events including HAAM Benefit Day and Corporate Battle of the Bands. A San Marcos native with a passion for nonprofits, she started volunteering for HAAM in 2009 and now also manages brand and community partnerships.
Melissa’s background is in social work and assisting clients with limited incomes. Her role at HAAM allows her to combine her passion for helping people with a love for music. She is interested in health literacy and enjoys empowering others to utilize resources.
WHERE YOU’LL FIND HER: belting some karaoke or playing sand volleyball
Alex is an Austin native who is passionate about music and caring for people, making her a superstar leader of our loyal volunteers. A Texas State University graduate who previously worked in the Seton Healthcare Family.
Emily helps HAAM members navigate health care resources and helps to further develop member programming. Her experience in immigrant and refugee resettlement, the foster care system and medical social work gives her the background to serve as program services coordinator.
Karl helps HAAM members access health care services, and assists with navigating the medical system. As lead eligibility specialist he educates members in services offered by HAAM and other agencies.
Emmet signs musicians up for HAAM and helps them navigate the health care system. He moved to Texas from Ohio, following rumors of a mystical city of music and sunshine, and fell in love with the Austin community.
