Insurance Enrollment

Perhaps the most common misconception about HAAM is that we are an insurance company. We are not, but we do help members navigate insurance enrollment on healthcare.gov.  Most HAAM members sign up for government-subsidized healthcare.gov plans with HAAM’s assistance and generally, this is done during Open Enrollment, Nov 1- Dec 15.  If you're currently uninsured, we want you to contact us so we can talk through options.

Premium Assistance

HAAM also helps members pay for their insurance. To qualify for this assistance, HAAM members can sign up for ACA Marketplace insurance plans on Healthcare.gov where they utilize government subsidies to reduce their monthly premiums. HAAM then steps in and helps members pay for their remaining monthly premiums through our Premium Assistance Program.

Premium Assistance varies from member to member based on your address, income, and family size. We have varied funding sources for premium assistance and pay between 50-100% of premiums depending on eligibility. Premium Assistance is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis during Open Enrollment and frequently runs out during that time. Each HAAM member must re-apply for Premium Assistance annually and will be awarded assistance based on available funding and eligibility.

If you have your own insurance, you can still be a HAAM member and access HAAM’s programs, provided you still are eligible
