HAAM Membership Overview

HAAM membership runs on a calendar year from January to December, but you can join or renew at any time. Your membership benefits begin as soon as your membership is active.

There is no cost to join or renew and members must renew their membership each year..

Member Benefits

HAAM partners with local organizations and providers to give HAAM members access to a wide range of healthcare services, support programs, and educational resources to improve health and well-being.

  • Free or discounted vision, dental, hearing, fitness memberships, and mind-body care services.

  • Help with healthcare navigation, including insurance enrollment, premium assistance for ACA Marketplace plans, mental healthcare, and medication cost reduction.

  • Select primary healthcare services if uninsured.

  • Access to exclusive social and educational events to stay engaged and connected.

  • Help with your questions about healthcare, insurance use, and financial literacy.

Who Can Join?

You are eligible to join HAAM if you:

  • Live in Travis or surrounding counties

  • Have an annual tax household income at or below 400% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL)

    • Self-employed? Be sure to use your net income after expenses.

    • Work for an employer? Use your gross wages.

  • Work as a musician, music teacher, or DJ (part-time or full-time)

Providing Proof of Musicianship:

Part of your annual application is providing documentation of your recent music work from the last 12 months as a professional musician, music teacher, or DJ. This might include, but is not limited to:

  • Singles and/or albums commercially released on digital platforms, such as Bandcamp, Spotify, Apple Music, etc.

  • Websites listing shows, music releases, or music classes taught

  • Social media posts referencing past or upcoming shows

  • Proof of income from music work, including check stubs, digital cash app transactions, tax forms, etc.

  • Credits on streaming services, in liner notes, or within work registrations through performing rights organizations such as BMI, ASCAP, etc.

Note: Any links provided should reference you by name and be publicly viewable (not social media profiles set to private).

Joining During Open Enrollment: November 1 - December 15

  1. Receive an emailed link to your application.

  2. Complete your application. You must complete the application in full in order to continue the process.

    • Need to enroll in health insurance for the next year? Schedule a joint virtual enrollment appointment with Foundation Communities and HAAM between November 1 and December 15.

    • Don’t need to enroll in health insurance? You’re all set. HAAM will confirm your eligibility and activate your membership.

  3. Complete your insurance enrollment appointment (if needed).

    • Apply for and enroll in a Marketplace health insurance plan through Foundation Communities, if appropriate.

    • Enroll in HAAM’s Premium Assistance Program (if eligible and funds are available).

    • Learn about HAAM member benefits.

Joining During Year-Round Enrollment: December 15 - October 31

  1. Receive an emailed link to your application.

  2. Complete your application. You must complete the application in full in order to continue the process.

  3. Schedule a virtual or in-person new member appointment with HAAM.

  4. Complete your new member appointment.

    • Learn about health insurance and healthcare options.

    • Learn about HAAM member benefits.
