Rachel Rascoe’s Favorite YMCA Pool for Summer

Meet Rachel Rascoe, Austin musician, swimmer and HAAM member. Through HAAM’s partnership with the Greater Austin YMCA, Rachel has access to a discounted membership and eight community fitness centers across Greater Austin that support her physical and mental well-being year-round.

For Rachel, the pool at North Austin YMCA is part workout, part reset button. During the cooler months, she swims laps indoors there. When summer arrives, she heads to East Communities YMCA for outdoor lap swimming.

Even without headphones, music is never far away. Lap time gives Rachel space to zone out, think through songs in progress and take in the joyful sounds of kids’ swim lessons nearby.

Rachel plays in the musical project Dorio with her partner, Chad Doriocourt. Their new single, “My Own Personal Racer” is out now, with a full album coming this summer.
