STEPHEN JEFFREY TO CHAIR CORPORATE BATTLE OF THE BANDS 2014 – FRIDAY,May 2
HAAM is thrilled to announce that Stephen Jeffrey will chair the
seventh annual Corporate Battle of the Bands event at ACL Live on Friday, May 9.
A Senior Vice President at Broadway Bank and fourth generation
Austin native, Stephen serves on the board of the Austin Lyric Opera,
and is actively involved with Art Alliance of Austin, Ronald McDonald
House Charities, and Austin Children’s Shelter. Stephen is also a
professional musician playing trumpet and bass for several groups
across Texas including the band Reunion.
So mark your calendars now for a fun, music filled evening! Bands
made up of business professionals who play music as a hobby will take
the stage at legendary Antone’s in front of celebrity judges and
compete to be named Austin’s Best Corporate Band!

Patrice Koen, or Pat as she is know to her friends, helped make 2013
a special year for HAAM. As a longtime friend and supporter of the
organization Pat went above and beyond as a donor and volunteer last
Joining HAAM’s Development Council early in 2013, Pat raffled off a
stay at her beautiful home in Taos New Mexico in support of HAAM,
brought on donors for last year’s HAAM Benefit Day, and twice hosted
Development Council events at the Four Seasons helping introduce new supporters to HAAM . At her March event HAAM raised over $30,000 in one night alone!
For all she did in 2013, and all we know she’ll accomplish in 2014
HAAM is grateful to have Pat in our world.

The third Annual HAAM Jam this year debuted a mini music festival on
Rainy Street with beloved Austin musicians in support of HAAM. Venues such as Lucille’s, Blackheart, Bungalow, and Craft Pride featured great live music from the likes of Roxy Roca, Frank Smith, John Pointer, and many many more.

Remembering Valerie Phillips
Longtime HAAM supporter and Austin philanthropist Valerie Phillips
passed way January 7th. A dear friend of HAAM founder Robin Shivers,
Valerie was instrumental in helping launch HAAM and was a dedicated
supporter of the Austin community.
Valerie was a Major Gifts officer for KUT and KUTX, political
fundraiser and civic leader. She lead an amazing and accomplished
life and will be missed dearly.

8th Annual Chili Cold Blood Cook Off, Feb 8: Join us at the White
Horse on Saturday Feb 8 for teh 8th Annual Chili Cold Blood Cook Off.
Come enjoy great chili and great music. All proceeds from the event
benefit HAAM in memory of musician Nick Curran.
